Mahindi Cottages

Accommodation : Mahindu Cottages

The beautiful Mahindu House and cottages, beautifully built in the 1940’s by Italian POWs and looked after and lived in for many years by Janine who came to Kenya chasing a dream for a Parisian Lioness many years ago.

The beautiful grounds, the gentle stream, the incredible Podo trees together with Janine’s special hospitality make the Mahindu cottages a very special destination. Potter up to the restaurant for breakfast, lunch or supper, or simply make yourself a culinary delight in the cottage kitchen – it doesn’t matter at Mahindu as the ‘hussle and bussle’ of 21st Century fade away.

Our two Mahindu cottages offer a luxurious contemporary feel, each having a large en-suite double bedroom. The cottages and situated within the stunning grounds of Mahindu Farmhouse, beside the Mahindu stream and just a 5 min drive from the main lodge.

Feel free to enjoy the gardens of Mahindu farmhouse, which stretch upstream for some way if you cross the little wooden bridge over the Mahindu (a particularly good stream for children to have fun in!).

Meals are all taken at the restaurant.

The Mahindu Cottages can also be taken on self-catering basis.
